John, That is a great place to fly. I lived there for a few years and had a few flights from the local launch point near Hooters when I just started PPG. I never had a chance to hit Shell Island, wish I did. The only caution about Shell Island is Tyndall Air Force Base is right across the bay. I'd stay well away from that, not sure what air space restrictions they have with their fighter planes taking off and landing near there. Apart from that, great site and people. Great post!
