About:
Winfield airport is a private field boasting 8 approachable LZ's and two of them are at least 2000 ' We have all general aviation and Ultra light traffic going on and a VHF radio is recommended for that reason and the fact that it is 1.5 miles outside of Kenosha airspace and about 6 miles outside of Waukegan airspace , Both class "D".
We still have a corridor to get to Lake Michigan about 8.7 miles from launch. Chain of lakes to the WSW,Tons of wildlife to see, Views of the Milwaukee and Chicago skylines are possible. A 10$ fee per day Or 30$ per month is required. Along with the usual release forms that PPG pilots are accustomed to. Call Mike Cannella 224 717 0897 or visit www.nippgi.com for access to the field or contact the Owners at www.softwingflight.com This is a great place to Base and do XC flying to other airports. Not alot of controversy, just good clean fun and relaxed piloting.
Emphasis on Piloting, we require pattern compliance and standard FBO procedure.....
